What a long booking changes is that I run out of the ability to perform, and that is the product rather than a defect in it.

Two hours in, whatever version of me arrived has gone, and what is left is somebody who is simply there. It cannot be produced faster by anybody wanting it faster, and it is the entire argument for booking three hours instead of one.

An hour with me is competent. It is also the version where I am most obviously doing something, and I would rather say that than sell the short booking as the same thing compressed.

What that also means is that a first booking is the least representative one. I am still performing at the two-hour mark of a first evening and not at the two-hour mark of a third, which is a strange thing to write down and is true.
